Lose weight by dancing!

Dancing is fun and a good exercise for just about everybody. People of all ages can manage some form of dance. Choose a dance that suits you. If you can't stand Hip Hop music it wouldn't make sense to do Hip Hop dancing. Picking a type of dance that you can dance to the music that you enjoy is always a good start. If you do at least 3 20 minute sessions a week, you will improve your cardiovascular results. If your goal is to burn calories and lose weight, you need to do a bit more. Of course you don't need to start off with doing a lot, take it easy. Remember this is about making exercise fun and not like hard work. Start slowly and dance as much as what you can. Don't dance until you are gasping for breath. Keep at a steady pace and push yourself further each time so that you are just outside your comfort level. In other words you must feel as though you're 'doing' something. This will give you some self satisfaction as well. Remember that it is probably a good idea to have yourself checked out by a doctor if you have health issues. Another very important thing is to warm up and cool down muscles with stretches so that you don't get injured. So.. stretch and get moving... why not when you can burn up to 400 calories an hour by dancing!

Most forms of dance can cause weight loss. Some dance styles are more strenuous than others. For example, a fast-paced Zumba or Hip hop dancing session will burn more calories than a slow and graceful lesson in ballet. Choose a dance class that gets you up and moving if possible! Obviously the more effort you put into the dancing the more calories you lose. Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise. Not only does it raise the heart rate through movement, dancing also tones and tightens the major muscle groups of the body. Dancing can burn as many calories as walking, swimming or riding a bicycle.
